About Us
Mission Statement
The Centre School of Dance is committed to bringing excellent dance education to students of all ages, abilities, and aspirations in a safe and loving environment that supports the godly values parents are instilling at home. We desire to follow and honor our Lord Jesus in all we do, “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things” Romans 11:36
Our History
After celebrating 20 years under the direction of founder Dana Bailey, Cathedral Oaks Dance Arts became The Centre School of Dance in 2009 and continues it’s pursuit of excellence in dance education under the direction of Andrea Venkataraman.
Our Philosophy
At The Centre School of Dance, we focus on teaching the whole dancer, body and soul. Our student-centered approach encourages students to take an active part in their education, asking their own questions as the faculty assists them in discovering answers and celebrating their accomplishments. Our faculty gently and compassionately guides each student through the carefully constructed curriculum, designed to develop and nurture the athletic and artistic excellence of each student. At the Centre, we partner with parents in education, not seeking to teach any religious doctrine, but desiring to provide a place of freedom for students to use the language of dance to express their hearts in a safe environment. The dance experience is enriched with devotions, character studies, and worship music. May our love, passion for, and freedom in Christ continue to drive our pursuit of excellence and create an artistic haven for students and their families.
