At The Centre School of Dance, we love seeing the joy that our dancers experience and that they bring to others when they perform. Performing, when paired with structured technique classes, is a very valuable part of a dancer’s education. We have created performing companies that will allow dancers to enhance their dance skills and experience with learning new choreography, multiple performing opportunities, and the joys of outreach and sharing dance with others. We are excited about taking our dancers outside the walls of our studio to reach out to the community and touch hearts with the joys of dancing for His glory!

Performing Opportunities include a Company Concert (hopefully held at CPAC in December!), Outreach to schools, nursing homes, and churches; and performing out of state for faculty and dance students from across the country at Dance Revolution Dance Convention!

Children’s Ensemble - Ages 7-9
Enrolled in Intro to Ballet and/ or Modern Classes

Youth Ensemble - Ages 9-14
Enrolled in Graded Division, Ballet and/or Modern

Beyond The Steps - Ages 13 & Up
Enrolled in Intermediate or Level I & II Classes

Earthen Vessels Dance Ensemble  
Enrolled in Intensive II or III

Requirements

• Acceptance into all performing companies is by audition only
• Must be enrolled in classes for the 2011-2012 dance season
• Must have completed at least one full year of dance training
• Must be able to pick up choreography quickly, remember, and perform it well
• Must be able to attend classes and rehearsals regularly
• Must be able to attend Company Camp to learn choreography (details below)

Rehearsals
- Dancers will learn choreography for their dances during Company Camp held after school Monday-Friday August 1- 12th 2011, Times TBA.

- Rehearsals will be held one Saturday a month throughout the school year, extra rehearsals will be held on weekends when preparing for a big event and leading up to the December Concert. These rehearsals must be a priority over other activities.

Fees
-One-Time Company Fee of $85 per season includes Company T-Shirt, Costume Rental, Choreography, and Rehearsal fees.

- $50 deposit due July 1st, 2011 with signed contract to reserve a space for your child in choreography, this commits your child to the company for the 2011-2012 dance season. Remaining balance is due August 1st, 2011.
- Some students may be selected to be in additional dances that are by invitation only, if you choose to participate, the fee per additional dance is $60 and includes Costume Rental, Choreograhy and Rehearsal fees.

- All members are required to purchase a Company Jacket; estimated cost is around $75. This jacket will last for multiple seasons with the company and you can re-sell it to another company member if dancer grows out of it.
